Capoeira for All have worked in over 40 schools and educational organisations since 2015 and have developed a range of acclaimed programmes and courses for Primary, Secondary, SEN, colleges and universities.

We work with young people of any age or ability, from gifted and talented to complex needs groups, including special educational needs and severe learning difficulties. This involves adapting the course, emphasizing different elements of Capoeira such as the sensory experience of the music and movement, activity-based learning, or the historical and cultural background of Capoeira and Brazil.

Our Programmes

Capo-What

Our flagship programme. Over 6 sessions students will cover subjects such as Capoeira movements, Afro-Brazilian history and music and basic Portuguese language. Benefits include self-expression through movement, development of confidence and self-esteem, and increased physical and mental wellbeing.

Capo-Rights

Human Rights and Children’s Rights (including exploring the United Nations Charter on the Rights of the Child and a look at modern day slavery. Option for this project to lead towards a level 1 UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools Award).

Capo-Sanctuary

Capo Sanctuary aims to underpin some of the key principles outlined by the Schools of Sanctuary Award. Young people will develop this understanding through an embodied learning approach all delivered through the Afro Brazilian art form of Capoeira.

GCSE Students, Rainford High School

This was an excellent workshop which fully engaged our students. The rhythmic work involving movement and singing enabled students to internalise Brazilian music and stretched and challenged their musicality. The instructors approach was encouraging and his humour ensured all students were able to ‘step out of their comfort zones.

GCSE Music Teacher, Rainford High School

The whole session is fantastic and keeps the children engaged, active and learning whilst having fun. We’d love a training session for the staff!
